A NOTE FROM DAVID
From keeping systems running to helping organizations move forward.
“Good technology leadership has to understand the details without losing sight of the business.”
My career started with the work that doesn't leave much room for shortcuts: deploying systems, diagnosing failures, supporting users, and making sure infrastructure performed when it mattered. Over more than 20 years, that foundation grew into leading technical teams, improving managed service operations, modernizing enterprise platforms, and advising decision-makers on security, risk, cost, and delivery.
I've worked in complex, highly accountable environments where a technology decision can affect far more than the IT department. I've seen how a well-run change can make a team's day easier—and how a poorly planned one can disrupt an entire operation. That experience shaped how I think about leadership: listen carefully, tell the truth about the risks, build a workable plan, and follow through.

Some engagements begin with a broad question: What is actually happening in our IT environment? That can mean a comprehensive internal assessment of infrastructure, access, documentation, vendors, security controls, backup practices, and operational gaps. Other engagements begin with a difficult delivery need: an ERP environment built in-house that must be sustained or integrated, a cloud transition, a complex application rollout, or a security initiative that needs coordination across several teams.
I bring experience from each of those conversations. My background spans enterprise systems engineering, Microsoft and hybrid environments, managed services, IT governance, project and program management, and business process automation. It also includes leading cross-functional technical teams and communicating progress and trade-offs to business stakeholders.
Why I started Chronos Propel.
Businesses don't always need another full-time executive or a large consulting engagement. Sometimes they need an experienced technology leader to help them make a decision, organize an initiative, or see a project through. Consulting firms may need a delivery partner who respects their client relationships and can step into a defined technical role without creating more coordination work.
Chronos Propel was created to serve those moments. We focus on clearly defined responsibility, practical technical judgment, straightforward communication, and documented handoffs. Our approach is built around strengthening the client's team—not making the work dependent on us forever.
“For me, reliability is not a slogan. It is being clear about what you can do, communicating when things change, and taking responsibility for the result.”
— David GenaoHow I approach partnerships.
Whether I am working directly with a business or supporting another consultant's engagement, I want the people involved to understand the plan and have confidence in the process. That means defining scope, respecting confidentiality and agreed client relationships, identifying risks early, keeping decisions visible, and delivering work another team can support afterward.
